EDUCATION

Any dog must learn the good manners. It is thus necessary to
inculcate good practices to it when it is young, if not the future will be difficult. Its education is
based on two
principles: authority and justice. More the dog feels that its
Master likes it and that it can trust him, more its education
will be easy and successful.
ON ITS ARRIVAL
Stressed, lost in its new universe, without its mother and its
brothers and sisters, the arrival of the pup must occur from the best
possible manner. First of all, it must find its place, of course that you will have chosen to it. If
there is
part of the house which will be prohibited to it, the bedroom for
example, you should not bring to it the first days under pretext which
it cries the night! It is the same thing for the armchairs and
settees which are not intended to it. The bad habits are caught
quickly and difficult to correct later.
You must immediately present the corner to it which will be for it in
ordinary time, with its basket, its cover, its toys. A young pup not
being yet quite clean, better is worth to think than it will be easier
to clean a tiling than a fitted carpet... It is necessary to make in
the same way for the corner which is intended for the meal
by
paying attention not to change its food brutally for it risks
digestive disorders. It is possible that it refuses the
meal that you will propose to it. You will thus tend quickly to
present other dishes to it. It is difficult to see it occurring from
food... Reassure you, rare are the dogs
who let themselves die of hunger!
Then, be strict
if not the spoiled
child will use your nerves because it will refuse what it will have
appreciated the day before and you will spend your time inventing new
meals to it.
You will avoid the uninterrupted visits of your
relations which will be of course curious to admire the baby! You
will learn with you children that it should not be taken
unceasingly, that it still requires to sleep often, that they should
not make noise too much (cries, television, music...).
If you have already one or more dogs, do not
poke
their jealousy by occupying you only of new arrived. On the contrary,
nothing in their practices must be modified. Thus
they will become guards
of the puppie.
As for the cat of the
house, as much to let it spit once or two! Comply with the same rules
that for your dogs and it will be able to accept to it.
Education can be done only in good mood, calm, with a certain
rigour, without discouragement when the dog does not
understand immediatly.

CLEANLINESS
One will facilitate the tendency to the cleanliness of the dog by
making it leave regularly, and especially just after the
meal. The reprimands when it urinate inside allow the
installation of a new nervous control of the dog which will learn how
" to retain itself "
Reprimands do not want to say to maltreat the animal, of course! The
practice which consists in putting the muzzle of the pup in its
excrements is stupid.
It is even truer when the " silly
thing " has not just been done. The dog would not understand
the relation between the punishment and the fact that one reproaches
it.
The word " no " is very important for its education; severly pronounced
, it will quickly be understood, and not only when it
is not clean. As soon as the animal forgets itself, it is immediately
necessary to come out it and congratulate it when it was relieved
outside.
Of course, this education is facilitated if one has a garden or a
court; in apartment, that is likely to take a little more time, excepted
if you arrange to it a cleanliness place with special
carpets,
fine gravels for cat or newspapers.
Any violence is to be proscribed; even it would have opposite results
that those discounted. The dog which is afraid does not answer at the
waitings of its Master.

WALK
The pup likes to walk but it is necessary to be conscious
of its physical capacities! Although one tends to take it in his
arms, it is however necessary to learn to it how to go attached.
It is useless to draw
the pup until the moment
it will lie down on the side. You must to oblige to it
to go to your left
side. It will be always an acquired thing when you
present it to a contest.
The results are not always visible the first days, that depends in
fact on the dog, but it is necessary to persevere without being
irritated! Another important thing: you should not be afraid of the
other dogs which you will meet. Yours would feel it and modify its
behavior. To draw on its leaves is an error. One is likely to cause
an aggressive reaction in the other animal. Or then your dog could
become an aggressive adult , ready to attack those which it crosses.
Also know that you will be often approached by people curious to meet
such a small animal. According to your availability and your mood of
the day, they will be moments of great user-friendliness!
return
DEGRADATIONS
Often inevitable, they are more or less important according to
the breed of the dog but also of its character. Just like the young
child who puts all at his mouth, the pup, for all the period during
which its teeth forme, will bite
all the objects which it
can reach, generally feet of table, of chair, of
armchairs, the shoes, carpets.
This activity will quickly become a
play. Then, before, better is to present to it objects planned for that like the rubber toys
and to thunder
to it as soon as it attacks a prohibited thing.
Of course, it is an intelligent and flexible animal , it will
understand quickly!
return
BARKINGS
The pup bark easily and almost never without reason. You must to
discover the cause and to cure it so that it does not become a noisy
dog with a piercing voice which will be difficult to support, for
you, your family and your neighbors.
It can bark because it
suffers from loneliness, because it feels that a storm will burst,
because it is hungry, because the passage of the factor frightens him,
and so on.
It is necessary to try to make it conceal as often as possible. But
one should not yield to all its whims!return
RUNNING AWAY
If the dog aspires to more freedom, it is necessary to propose to it more physical activities, thus it
will consume its
energy. Especially, after a running away, you don’t must to punish to it more violently than usually
because it could want
to go away more and more And to deprive to it of walk would be the largest
error.

TO LIVE IN COMPANY
You will have to learn the good manners with your dog. One should
not especially: to give to it foods during your lunch; to let
you jump above when you return at home ; to let to you lick the
figure, the hands or the feet; to leave to it to bite
the bottom of
the trousers or the coat; to excite to it so that it runs
cats
and other animals; to make to it bark; to let to it to importune those which hardly appreciate; to
make climb to it on your leg
to balance it.

PUNISHMENTS
The punishments are necessary for the education. But it is not to be violent. It is necessary to
remain right and coherent: not
to punish what one authorized the day before, not to punish the pup
for a silly thing which it does not have commise. When it is in
fault, the dog must be called immediately. If it is long in coming,
if it adopts an attitude not really proud, then it will have
understood that it badly acted, it will thus accept more easily the
punishment.
It is necessary to speak to it severly by shaking it by
the collar or the skin about the neck. Few words are useful but they
must be pronounced in a manner which does not allow the doubt about
your dissatisfaction. The howls are useless... But the best
solution is certainly insulation, even for a little moment.
The dog is sensitive to this punishment because it thinks to lose
the
affection
of its Master.
return
OBEDIENCE
Small regular exercises that the pup will take for plays will make it
possible this one, amongst other things, to return as soon as you call
it, to refuse the food which a foreigner could give
to it or to
cross a street without your order. Each time that the exercise is a success
, the dog will be rewarded, not inevitably by a delicacy,
but by soft words and caresses.return
TO LEARN HOW TO REMAIN ALONE
It is regrettable to meet dogs presenting of the serious disorders of
the behavior because of the stress related to the absence of the
Masters. Often, these behaviors are due to
a bad education. Indeed, the dog
will feel the absence of its masters as if it lost part of
himself. Note
that the distress
will be less strong if there
are other animals at home, provided that they are not like him!
The habituation of the pup to loneliness must be done as of its
arrival in the hearth. You don’t must to take it in its bedroom for
the night! You will certainly hear it to cry.
That will be difficult but one will not have to answer its calls.
It will end up to sleep...
If you do not work at the time of the reception of the pup, that will be
easier for you and you will be able to start with short absences in the course
of the day, more and more prolonged.
But becareful, your efforts will be null and void if you do not adopt
the good attitude.Your departure must be natural,
without demonstration of particular tenderness, as if you will return
thirty seconds later.
With the return, do not you precipitate in response to its
demonstrations of joy; let spend a certain
time before making to it some kindnesses and walking to it.
Dont’t forget that a dog acts by association of ideas. If, before
your departure, it can make good strolls, to play with you and to
receive a delicacy; that it is the same after your return, are
sure that it will accept your absence much better.
